The Glasgow Branch of the Clan Donald Society, which was the first branch to be established, is experiencing an injection of new enthusiasm. The underlying factor behind this surge of interest is the choice of functions and realistic pricing of events, and the willingness of the members to meet in a social atmosphere. In proof of this, all arrangements made up and to the end of the year have all shown an increase in attendance.
It is fairly obvious that with the advent of television and the reliance of Clanspeople in entertainment by the mass media, a new approach has to be made if the original objects of the Association have to be sustained. It was a proving factor that provided the functions are carefully thought out with an interesting programme of events, and within the means of the average member, attendances will be maintained and also encouraged to attend future functions.
