Somerled Alexander Bosville Macdonald of Sleat, Younger

Somerled was born in 1976, educated at Aysgarth School, Gordonstoun School, and achieved a BA Hons degree in History at Newcastle University. On July 15th, 2003, Somerled married the former Charlotte Perkins in Derby Cathedral; they have two boys, Alexander (15yrs) who is currently at Uppingham school and William (12yrs) who starts his final year at Aysgarth this coming September. Both boys enjoy their sport, in particular cricket and are accomplished pipers.

Somerled started his career with Fleming Private Asset Management and for the past twenty years has been involved in the Executive Search world, with a focus on the Private Banking/Wealth community. In addition, Somerled is involved with the day to day running of Thorpe Hall Estate which incorporates farming, forestry, property and leisure businesses.

Somerled is a keen follower of sport, enjoys keeping fit and travelling the country watching Alex & William playing sport. The family have a four-year-old Labrador called Skye, a gun dog which all enjoy working.

Charity work includes holding a variety of events to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a local charity which supports disadvantaged families in Bridlington.

The family resides at Thorpe Hall, Rudston in East Yorkshire.
